# PSY 11195

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Tarzana CA with post graduate training and 30 years of experience in individual psychotherapy relationship counseling, and Somatic Psychotherapy.

My goal is to help you improve your quality of life and relationships. I am a good listener who is caring, empathetic, practical and interactive. These abilities enable me to help you see yourself from a new perspective and acknowledge your positive attributes.

Therapy Process

The therapy process that you will experience is goal oriented and focuses on you having practical solutions to the problems you are experiencing. I use techniques that can be tailored to your temperament and individual needs. These techniques will help you get in touch with who you are and how to be comfortable in the world.

Psychological Services

> Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy teaches how to overcome anxiety, depression, grief, loss, poor self-esteem, and childhood issues.

> Relationship Building

Many people I work with have not learned how to build successful relationships. The building blocks of relationships are created in interactions between parent and child in which the parent understands and copies the child’s emotional expressions. This is called Mirroring.

Through these mirroring interactions the child experiences a sense of being understood and a feeling of security. The therapy process can replicate mirroring and enable the client to build better relationships.

> Relationship Counseling

In addition to Mirroring, relationship counseling teaches communication skills, boundary setting, and conflict resolution. These skills enable my clients to develop and maintain a good relationship with a partner that is right for them.

> Somatic Psychotherapy

Somatic Psychotherapy teaches you to identify the emotions you are experiencing and to notice and understand how you feel this in your body. In this process you learn how to effectively manage and release your emotions including anxiety.

> Meditation Training

Meditation enables us to let go of thinking and use focusing on deep breathing to attain serenity and relaxation. Meditating for 20 minutes or more a day is a deeply relaxing process which builds permanent neural pathways in your brain for calmness.
